Pathfinder Regional Park

NOTICE:  The Fremont County Department of Transportation is going to pave the roundabout at Pathfinder Regional Park.  This will be a great improvement to the facility.  The work will begin on Monday September 25, 2023 and will conclude on Wednesday September 27, 2023 if everything goes according to plan.  Because the roundabout is the only entrance to the park, both the Recreation District and the County are closing the facility during construction.  The goal is not to inconvenience anyone, but to successfully pave the roundabout.  The park is scheduled to reopen the morning of Thursday September 28, 2023 so the community can recreate at the facility and have an improved roundabout.  If for whatever reason, the project timeline changes we will share this information immediately.  The Recreation District would like to thank the Fremont County Department of Transportation for the efforts on upgrading Pathfinder Regional Park.

 *******

Pathfinder Park opened in the fall of 2007 and improvements continue to be made thanks to community volunteerism, and multiple grants from Great Outdoors Colorado and the Gates Foundation. The Miners Pavilion is booked several weekends each month and the playground is busy throughout the week, especially on weekends. The fishing pond has become a popular place not only for fishing, but for parties and even weddings. Trail additions and bridges have been made thanks to the Canon City High School Civics classes and local Boy Scout Troops. Pathfinder Park is home to the Recreation District's soccer program and other special events including the annual flag football Turkey Bowl.
