Clean Up Green Up

THANK YOU to all of the wonderful volunteers at the 2021 event who helped us keep your public lands beautiful!

The Cañon City Area Recreation and Park District hosted the annual Clean Up Green Up event on Saturday April 24th.   It was a great time for the community to work together and help clean up trails, open spaces, and riverbanks.  This year we expanded the event by partnering with the City of Cañon City, Fremont Adventure Recreation (FAR) and Cleanitup.org.  With everyone working together we cleaned up the areas around the Arkansas River corridor through Cañon City, the Arkansas Riverwalk, John Griffin Regional Park, South Cañon Trails, the Hogbacks and Skyline Drive, and any other trails in the area.  All across Colorado volunteers will be picking up trash to help clean up and green up Colorado’s rivers and by-ways this spring.

Howard Disposal is provided a roll-off to the Recreation District for trash disposal.  Twin Enviro Services provided a roll-off to the City of Cañon City for their area of trash disposal.

2021's free grab and go breakfast offered to all of our volunteers was generously donated by Nick Sartori of Sartori Sells Land and Home Town Real Estate.
